They responded with tears before hoisting him on their shoulders so that 20,000 fans could cheer in appreciation. "I don't think anyone will be able to match what he's done," Gait told Syracuse University Magazine following the announcement. "There's only one Roy Simmons Jr. No one will ever forget him."
