Mario Andretti is hands down, no question, the greatest racecar driver of all time. His accomplishments over different forms of racing is unbeatable. Daytona 500, Indy 500, F1 Championship, Cart championships, 24 hours of Sebring, with wins in 4 different decades. Please name a good old NASCAR boy that accomplished that.
Also, Mario was involved in advertisement for Snowmobiles. Snojet and Artic Cat. Cat had a Mario Andretti prototype sled ready for production in 1982, but folded when they went out of business from 1982-83.
Mario is synomous with racing and an idile.

I need to know, and no one has an answer, "Did Mario win the Indianapolis 500 on Firestone Tires WITHOUT A SINGLE TIRE CHANGE?" Everyone is saying this isn't possible, but in 1969 we taught our very young daughter to say, "Mario Andretti won the Indianapolis 500 on Firestone Tires without a single tire change," all in one breath. My husband managed the local Firestone Tire Store and was happy about the win. We made her tell everyone, so it must be true! Am I crazy?
